Tools and Settings
The interface is split into the workspace and control panels. Panels let you pick decks, rooms, and items, and manage the session.
What it is
Left panel
The left panel switches between six modes:
- Session – invite code and link, connection status, "New" and "Join", private mode and password.
- Persistent – the list of persistent sessions and the used-slot counter. Disabled without PRO or Premium.
- Moderation – team tools. The tab appears only for users with the MOD badge.
- Profile – OAuth sign-in, Premium status, pearl balance, promo codes, AI and integrations access.
- Deck editor – build and edit your own decks.
- Room editor – build and configure your own rooms.
Right panel
The right panel has two views; the switch sits in its header:
- Simplified view – quick deck and table controls: card draw mode, "Deal word cards", "Clear table" and the "Pull a random card" button. Good when you work alone.
- Full view – four tabs: "Deck", "Room", "Items", "Session settings". This is what group sessions and client work need.
Tabs of the full view:
- Deck – deck selection, display mode and card draw mode.
- Room – room selection and a description of the environment.
- Items – notes, tokens, the die, collectible items and the inventory.
- Session settings – session rules and ending the session. The rules are covered in Session access and participation rules.
Chat and participants panel
The "Chat", "Participants", "Notifications", "Support" and "Feedback" tabs are covered in Collaboration and chat.
Context tools
- Card context menu: flip, bring to front, return to deck.
- Card buttons: quick flip and fullscreen view.
Table action buttons
When cards are placed on the table, additional action buttons appear:
- Clear table (host only): removes all cards from the table and returns them to the deck. This button only appears when there are cards on the table and you are the host.
- Screenshot: captures the current state of the table as an image. This button is visible to all participants when there are cards on the table.
Clear table is permanent
The "Clear table" action requires confirmation before executing. Once confirmed, all cards will be returned to the deck and cannot be undone.
How to use
Key steps
- Open the sidebar if it is collapsed.
- Switch to the needed tab: "Deck", "Room", "Items", or "Session settings". If there are no tabs, the panel is in the simplified view - switch it in the header.
- Change a setting and continue working on the canvas.
- Use card buttons or the context menu for card actions.
Using Clear table
- Place cards on the table during your session.
- When ready to start fresh, click the "Clear table" button.
- A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you want to proceed.
- Confirm to return all cards to the deck.
Host only
Only the session host can clear the table. Participants will not see this button.
Using Screenshot
- Arrange cards and notes on the table as desired.
- Click the "Screenshot" button.
- The image will be saved to your downloads folder.
Save your work
Since sessions are not saved automatically, use the Screenshot button to preserve important layouts before ending a session or switching to another one.
Scenarios
- Quick deck change: open the "Deck" tab and pick another deck. Cards already on the table stay, so one layout can hold cards from several decks.
- Change the environment: open the "Room" tab and choose a room.
- Prepare a session: the host sets deck modes and shares the invite.
- Reset the board: the host clears the table to start a new layout with the same participants.
- Document results: take a screenshot before ending the session.
Tips and errors
- If a toggle is disabled, you are not the host - ask the host to change it.
- Some options may be marked as "Coming soon" and are not available yet.
- If the panel blocks the view, collapse and reopen it as needed.
- Remember to take screenshots of important layouts - they are not saved automatically.
