Shortcuts and Gestures

The app leans on the gestures your browser already has. There are few keyboard shortcuts, and this page lists all of them.

What it is

Canvas gestures

  • Pan the canvas - hold and drag empty space.
  • Zoom - mouse wheel, or a pinch gesture on a trackpad or screen.
  • Move objects - drag a card, note, token or die.
  • Resize a card - pull the corner handle.
  • Delete an object - drag it into the bin zone at the bottom of the screen.

Card actions

  • Double click - flip the card.
  • Right click or long press - card context menu: "Flip", "Bring to front", "Return to deck".
  • Card buttons - quick flip and fullscreen view.

Card selector

Key Action
+ or = One size step larger
- One size step smaller
Left and right arrows Move to the neighbouring card
Up and down arrows Move one row up or down (in the grid)
Enter Place the open card on the table
Escape Close the preview; press again to close the selector

The size scale can be focused with Tab and changed with the arrows - the same step as the "Smaller" and "Larger" buttons.

Dialogs and input fields

  • Enter confirms: send a chat message, join by session code, save your name, apply an image crop.
  • Escape closes: a confirmation dialog, the card context menu, the self-work guide, a deck popup, the fullscreen preview, the Air panel.

Room editor

  • Backtick (`) toggles the grid on and off.

How to use

Key steps

  1. Zoom with the mouse wheel or a pinch.
  2. Drag the canvas or objects to navigate.
  3. Flip cards with a double click; take the rest from the context menu.
  4. In the card selector, pick a size with + and - without leaving the keyboard.

Scenarios

  • Working through a layout: a double click flips a card without opening a menu.
  • Browsing a deck: open the selector, press + until the size is comfortable, then move with the arrows.
  • Precise placement in the room editor: turn the grid on with the backtick.

Tips and errors

  • Gestures differ between devices - use whatever your system already does.
  • If a shortcut does nothing, check whether the browser or an extension has taken it.
  • Selector keys work only while the selector is open; otherwise the arrows scroll the page.
  • On mobile, gestures are more comfortable than a keyboard.
